Boiler Maintenance Near Me in Niantic, CT

Annual boiler maintenance in Niantic, CT keeps the unit running safely and efficiently through the heating season. A proper maintenance visit catches problems before they become breakdowns and preserves the manufacturer warranty.

A boiler maintenance visit includes cleaning the burners and combustion chamber, inspecting the heat exchanger, checking and adjusting gas pressure, testing the flame sensor and ignitor, verifying combustion gases meet manufacturer spec, inspecting the venting for blockage or damage, checking water pressure and the expansion tank, testing safety controls (high-limit, low-water cutoff, pressure relief valve), inspecting circulator pumps, and verifying thermostat and zone controls operate correctly.

For gas-fired boilers in Niantic, CT, combustion analysis is the most important diagnostic of the visit. Proper combustion means the unit is running at design efficiency and not producing dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. A combustion analyzer reading at the flue gives definitive answers — no guessing.

Modern condensing boilers add a few maintenance items: cleaning the condensate trap, flushing the heat exchanger annually (or every other year depending on water quality), and checking the neutralizer if the condensate drains to a sensitive location. Older atmospheric boilers don't have these but need more chimney attention.

For Niantic, CT homes, scheduling boiler maintenance in September or early October — before peak heating demand — is ideal. The visit takes about 90 minutes and prevents most of the breakdowns that send homeowners scrambling in January.

Many boiler warranties require documented annual professional maintenance. Skipping the service can void the warranty on major components.
